At the heart
of the EDA radio fire alarm system is the main control panel.
The control panel displays
any alarm or fault information and is used to control the system. The
main functions include an Evacuate, Alert, Silence and Reset button. A
key pad is also featured to allow access to menu functions which include
isolating the system, selecting test modes and viewing a history of events.
An engineer with the correct password can configure the system from the
keypad. The panel essentially controls the rest of the system, but a high
level of integrity has been built into the system to ensure that if part
of the system failed the remainder of the system would operate as effectively as possible.
